Sandhill Cranes at Myakka River State Park

Well, we took our first camping trip with our three girls, ages 7, 5 and 2. We went to Myakka River State Park which has always been one of my favorite places in Florida and did an overnight camping trip this past Saturday. It went really well. The girls did good and had a great time. They did a lot of hiking, saw a bunch of animals and got to cook over the campfire. Everyone even slept pretty well in the tent. One of the highlights in terms of the wildlife was the baby Sandhill Crane. I got to see this family of cranes twice and to photograph them each time. They are so cute when they’re small. More to come on our trip.
