The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is one of my favorite subjects to shoot at sunrise in the Tampa Bay area and probably for me, the most difficult to capture well. The main problem is that with the location of sunrise it is difficult to get a good angle on the bridge. You can capture the sun rising over it from Fort Desoto park, but that is too far away to get the details in the bridge. I have made multiple attempts to capture it from each of the Skyway fishing piers but this is also difficult. The bridge has lights shining on the yellow suspension cables and the contrast is too great before sunrise and after sunrise you can’t see the lights anymore. The first shot here is one of my favorites that I have captured from this angle although it could use a few more clouds.
