Ballast Point Park is a park that a lot of people probably don’t know about, but is one of the nicest parks in South Tampa. Ballast Point Park is on the southern end of Bayshore Boulevard. I live about 2-3 miles from the park and get out there a couple times a month. I recently was able to make it over there for a sunrise and it worked perfectly as I had to photograph the sunrise and still make it to work on time. The shot with the silhouette of the oak tree is one of my favorites. I shot this composition before but was not happy with the results. This version is much better, but I still might try again. The second shot was one of the last shots I took before heading off to work. Once the sun had completely cleared the horizon I captured a couple angles of it over the Ballast Point Park Pier and then was on my way.
