One of the best things about living in South Tampa is that there are a ton of great parks close by. We have a neighborhood park that we can walk to with the kids to play on the playground. Two of our favorite parks are just a short drive away. Ballast Point Park is one the southern end of Bayshore Boulevard. It has a nice playground and a long pier that the kids also like to walk out on. It is a great place to watch as sunrise over Hillsborough Bay. Picnic Island is on the other side of South Tampa. It has a decent play ground, a dog beach, a frisbee golf course among other things. Picnic Island is a great place to watch the sunset over Tampa Bay.
