Every time I make it over to St Petersburg I end up spending the majority of my time in the area around the Salvador Dali Museum and the Mahaffey Theater (Duke Energy Center for the Arts). Both of them are really cool buildings and offer a lot of photographic opportunities. Both of these photos were an effort to incorporate the many palm trees in the area into the scene. For the Salvador Dali Museum I used a fisheye lens so that the palms almost wrapped around the building. I also positioned the camera so that the diamond shaped tile was in the foreground to lead the eye into the scene. For the Mahaffey Theater shot I used a vertical composition with the palm trees leaning over it and meeting together.
