Back to the Blue Ridge Parkway

No, unfortunately I have not had time to make another trip up to the Blue Ridge Parkway yet. However, every once in awhile I dig through the folder of photos I took there on my last trip looking for one to share. The first shot tonight is probably the most photographed location on the Parkway, Mabry Mill. Mabry Mill is a good distance up the parkway and not too long after you cross over the border into Virginia. The pond is great for reflections if you take the right angle. The hardest part is just waiting long enough to get a shot without someone in it since it is such a popular area. The second shot it of Crabtree Falls which is currently my favorite waterfall on the parkway out of the ones I have been able to visit so far. The hardest part of capturing this waterfall at least at the time of day I was there is that the sun is just above the top of the falls. This can make the lighting pretty difficult to handle. In this shot I basically just cut it out by putting the top of the falls right against the edge of the photo.
