New Year’s Eve

Since it is New Year’s Eve and I have seen a lot of other people do it, I thought I would take a look back on the year 2013. 2013 was a good year for me overall as a photographer. I feel that I have learned a lot and am definitely moving closer to the point where it can become more than just an expensive hobby. I did not make as many photo outings this year as I have in the past, but there are a couple of big reasons for that. First is my beautiful new daughter Emery who was born in October. Also, because of Emery coming along we also ended up moving which involved living at my parent’s house for about a month while our house was being finished. I made a Best of 2013 graphic which shows 12 of my favorite shots from this year. I was able to see some cool things. I caught a stingray jumping out of the water, I saw a partial solar eclipse and caught the supermoon setting over the University of Tampa (more on that in a minute). I also got to photograph a couple of new places including Lake Eola in Orlando, on the Disney Dream Cruise Ship and inside the Tampa Theatre. Thanks to a new acquaintance I was also granted access to the roof of the Skypoint building in downtown Tampa for a sunset photography session. I will start posting those photos in the new year. It’s very hard to pick because I become attached to my photos, but I think Moon and Bird Silhouette on Supermoon is my favorite shot from this year.
