Baseball Christmas Tree, Victorian Christmas Stroll

This week we went to the Victorian Christmas Stroll at the H. B. Plant Museum at the University of Tampa. There were a lot of cool decorations and several rooms had Christmas trees decorated according to different themes. One of my favorites was the baseball Christmas tree. For a brief history, the University of Tampa was once the Tampa Bay Hotel which was built by Henry Plant as a winter luxury resort. He charged between 5-15$ per night when the average rate for a night in Tampa was $2. In relation to baseball, the hotel was close to Plant Field. Babe Ruth played there during spring training and the legend is that he hit the longest home run of his career here on April 4, 1919.
