Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake

Well, I have not gotten out to shoot a whole lot this year, but I have had two of my best sightings of my life. A month or so ago I caught the Devil Ray jumping out of the water at Fort Desoto. Today the family and I went for a walk at Weedon Island Preserve in St Petersburg. We got to see a 4 1/2 to 5 foot long Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake laying right across the sidewalk. Despite being out in the woods every time I get a chance this is only the third or fourth Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake that I have ever seen in the wild. Unfortunately I only had my 24-105 zoom so I could not get as good of shots as I would have liked. He even gave us a little rattle as he slid back into the bushes. So cool!
