Tonight I headed over to St Petersburg to capture some of teh Christmas displays over there. First stop is the house on Oakdale St. This place has a massive display and has been rated one of the 3 best displays in the United States for the last couple of years. They began doing this in 1977. Gradually it grew to over ½ million lights (incl. fiber optics). It normally takes a crew of about 8 to 15 people nearly 3 months to install, requiring roughly 12 truck loads to bring all the items from other storage areas. The display costs approximately $5000 in electricity alone. The display is very impressive and you could spend a lot of time taking photos there. On a side note, nobody bothered me about using my tripod which is always a plus.
