Great Smoky Mountain National Park Architecture

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is known for its scenery, but it also has a lot of historic and beautiful architecture. The first shot is an old barn in Cades Cove at the Tipton Place. This style of barn is called a cantilever barn. They have a cantilever, or overhang, which supports a second-story loft. The lofts stored hay, and wagons were able to pull right under the barn between the cribs. The cribs usually had livestock, and farmers were also able to store equipment there, too. The second shot is of Little Cataloochee Baptist Church.
