Back to Minneapolis, Minnesota

Here are a couple more of my favorite shots from our recent trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota. If the city has any water around it my goal is usually to try to get to the other side. There are two reasons for this. The ability to capture a reflection is the biggest. The second reason is that it gives you a little distance so the buildings are not right on top of you and you can capture it a little differently. The second shot had a huge contrast from the darkest shadows to the brightest neon lights. I captured it with a bracket of -4, -2, 0, +2 which is my standard night bracket. I then did another exposure or two that were down in the range of -6/7. This was to capture the now playing on the Guthrie Theater sign which was extremely bright in contrast to rest of the scene.
