Appalachicola National Forest

Another site in Florida that I would like to revisit is Appalachicola National Forest. This area is up near Tallahassee and covers a pretty wide area. There are a lot of dirt roads and a lot of pine trees. A lot of the habitat is Florida scrub which has a lot of pine trees, sandy soil and is a good home for gopher tortoises among other things. I have only been twice and have just kind of explored on my own but have found a few nice areas. The highlights of my sightings were a large group of pitcher plants, some sundew, and a lot of flowers. I would love to explore with somebody who really knows this area.
