The Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland is a new find for me, but has quickly become one of my favorite places. On my first visit I saw one of the best sunrises I have ever seen (View here). Today was my second visit and the highlight was a Sadhill crane family with two pretty young chicks. It is later in the season so I thought I had missed all the babies but was happy to see that I was wrong. I have seen many photos of bobcat and otters taken at this park although I have not seen them on the two visits I have made. There are a ton of gators and one trail occasionally closes during nesting season. Follow this link to see why. I love that photo series from Claudia Marlene and it definitely shows why you have to be really careful during gator nesting season. Of course if you don’t mess with the gators then they won’t mess with you!
