West End Bridge

Sometimes as photographer’s we get carried away by the amazing scenery and cityscapes we see. This was definitely the case when I visited Pittsburgh. I had done my research and decided that West End Overlook gave me the best view of the city. Watching the sun go down and all the lights of the city come on was exciting. I took a lot of shots with my wide angle lens to capture the joining of the rivers and the land on both sides in addition to downtown Pittsburgh. This led to the first shot I posted here which is definitely one of my favorite shots from our trip. After awhile of shooting variations of the same shot I decided to focus on some of the smaller scenes within the scene. West End Bridge caught my eye. I used my zoom lens to isolate it from the bigger picture. I love the structure and lighting and especially the reflections of this bridge. The message is don’t forget about all the smaller elements that make up the scene. Sometimes they can make good photo subjects themselves.
